A TRUE LOCAL

Belinda Thompson is a Community Advocate in the City of Logan, predominantly looking out for the residents of Division 12. This division is made up of the suburbs of Eagleby, Beenleigh and Mt Warren Park.

She is married to a local tradesmen, who is born and bred in Beenleigh, and they run a successful small business together. Belinda has three children, two currently serving in the Australian Defence Force, and the youngest attending high school in Beenleigh.

Belinda is a highly energetic and motivated community advocate, able to communicate on all levels, to work together to resolve problems and negotiate to build good quality outcomes for local issues. Together with local residents, Belinda has been advocating against a proposed service station and what specific needs or benefits it would bring to the community. (Decision pending).

Representing the community is in her blood, from managing local football teams, coaching netball, chasing raffle prizes and running trivia nights for local schools & organisations. Belinda is passionate and committed with over 25 years helping in our community. Belinda has served on numerous boards including Beenleigh PCYC, Beenleigh JRLFC, Beenleigh Swim Club and St Joseph’s Tobruk Memorial School. Recently she took part in the Divisional Boundary Review of Logan City Council suggesting via submission to include all of Mount Warren Park come under Division 12 instead of being split over two Divisions, the boundary review has seen Mount Warren Park wholly located now in Division 12. Belinda currently is a proud member and supporter of Beenleigh PCYC, Beenleigh RSL, Beenleigh Swimming Club, Logan City Relay for Life, St Joseph’s Tobruk Memorial School, Eagleby Community & Wetlands Group and Beenleigh Yatala Chamber of Commerce.

Belinda understands the importance of strong and strategic leadership, decision-making that is inclusive and will listen and act on behalf of all residents with honesty, integrity and transparency, to ensure the community has a real voice, and the best representation possible.
